CAS Society Meeting March 2024

Hello all! Our regular meetings take place on the last Wednesday of every month. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, 27th of March, 2024, at 19:30. The meeting is held at Burley hall, Waverton,CH3 7QN. Our Speaker for the evening is Dr Steve Barrett, From Liverpool University. He'll be giving us two shorter Lectures. First one is named "JWST+2" Discussing the James Webb Telescope. Our Second Lecture is named "Ancient Light" Discussing the journey of light from distant objects from Earth. Dr Steve Barrett is a old friend of CAS, With years of experience in Astronomy who has lectured for us many a time. Dr Barrett has travelled extensively to view astronomical events. His Liverpool University home page shows photographs of the Aurora Borealis taken in Iceland, A total eclipse of the Sun photographed in the Sahara Desert and the 2004 transit of Venus photographed in Egypt. He is also a keen wildlife photographer and has been on several safaris in Africa. Tea and coffee are served, Please bring your own cup. Any questions?
